Flex 4.5 (and possibly 4.6) Event
Is there a way to stop the Event object from bubbling (especially when onmouseover) without having to use an event handler?
I have a number of objects in my application and I don’t want them to fire events (especially onmouseover).
Thanks for any ideas
What are you trying to do? If you’re trying to prevent the event from bubbling, use event.preventDefault() (deprecated since 4.1) or event.cancelBubble=true (deprecated since 4.5). If you’re trying to prevent the event from bubbling up to the document, use event.stopPropagation() (deprecated since 4.1).
Diabetes care programs for people with schizophrenia: a systematic review of evidence and research agenda.
This systematic review aimed to identify and critically appraise evidence of impact of diabetes care programs for people with schizophrenia. A systematic search was conducted in MEDLINE, PsycINFO, EMBASE, CINAHL, AMED, Social Science Citation Index and the Cochrane Library in March 2014. Original empirical research evaluating diabetes care programs, delivered to people with schizophrenia, for clinical outcomes (HbA1c, lipids, weight, blood pressure, complications) and service outcomes (hospitalisations, cost), was included. There were no restrictions on study design, year or language. Data were extracted independently by two reviewers, and quality appraised. Eight studies (with 11 intervention arms) were included. Four were quantitative, three qualitative and three of mixed design. Seven of the 11 interventions were diabetes education and support programs. Of the five interventions that included specific diet modification, four included personalized dietary counselling, with two of these reporting improvement

How to make a program that recognizes when the computer is off?
So I was writing a program that can scan for a wifi signal and connect to a particular access point and to register this connection. However, how would I go about making the program know that the computer is off? Is there a way for it to check on the status of the computer when it is off?
Generally speaking, there are two options you have:
Detect when the computer enters or exits sleep mode. This can be done by polling a certain location in memory (the contents of the SRAM) every second and comparing the currently polled memory location with the last one. Note that this solution is unreliable (it could fail if the computer is not suspended for too long), but it is the simplest.
Detect when the computer is powered off and then resuming later. This involves monitoring the events of shutting down, which might be more challenging.
Note that while power supply is not the main cause of error in a shutdown, a power supply failure could also cause the computer to shut down in a different state than desired.
can limit how far the number of items you send. But you still have to send at least one thing
